Definition
The company had some pressing business needs—specifically, a fully designed and functional UI to support existing algorithms. To get started, I conducted stakeholder interviews across leadership, product, and engineering, and initiated deep-dive sessions with data science.
alignment
During stakeholder interviews, I created artifacts that helped me make sense of the ecosystem and gain alignment across the organization. These were frequently throughout the organization for reference and direction.
Rapid prototyping
Because of the strong need to craft an experience, I moved quickly into prototyping. I worked closely with my project manager, data scientists, and engineering to validate concepts, gather requirements, understand constraints, and begin a feature set roadmap. But first—translating initial brand assets into a digital experience.
the digital experience
Working closely with engineers, I began building foundations for a design system through evaluation and best practices. This helped set the stage for quick design and build, allowing for space to solve hard problems in the future.
Concept testing
After working with various teams to deliver prototypes, I got to work evaluating various testing platforms and conducting usability testing with existing customers. Through this exercise, we exposed gaps in the product that needed immediate attention as well as minor enhancement we could address immediately. What did this mean for design? A change in priority plus revisiting initial designs.
